FASHIONING CULTURE FOR SUCCESS
“We are in an era where everyone is looking to Africa for inspiration. This is an opportunity for us to tell our stories, show the world our interpretation of our culture, and present it in a way that is functional for everyday wear,” said Sandi Mazibuko, the founder and creative director at FabroSanz, said after showing her collection in Milan in 2018.
After starting out with pop-up shops in various cities in 2014, FabroSanz is now a fully fledged fashion house. Online sales have grown steadily, despite the lockdown, and Mazibuko recently opened her flagship store in the Mall of Africa.
The designs are inspired by South African culture and are made locally to order.
